285's to 315's to Increase MPG?

I went from the stock 265s to the 315/70/17 and saw about a 1.5mpg increase. I really like the BFGs. I tried the Procomp Extreme's, but I drive too much and didn't like the noise. I'm back to a new set of BFGs and loving it. Some complain because they are soft, but I put nearly 40k miles on my last ones with no problems... I'm all about fuel mileage.. getting 27mpg at 55mph according to the readout up top (probably off a bit, but anything close to that is killer). I'm running the 315s and a Triple Dog on Crazy Larry (of course have to keep the foot out of it to keep the fuel mileage)
Hope that helps

I drive my truck super easy, and from what I have seen on mine and my dads the easier you drive the more error is built in, the computer seems to have the most trouble with the least flow.
But each rig is different, but most are a ways off.. Which is silly, should be easy to get figured out.. would also be nice if the programmers had an adjustment feature built in.

Yeah 285/75's would be the ticket but BFG doesn't make any. Can't seem to find Toyo's and Nitto's local to me either and really don't want to pay that much for tires when I get BFG's for pretty cheap

I gain about 2-2.5mpg from going from a 265/70 to a 315/70, granted I really dont see to many stop lights, but it dropped my rpm by 200, which is huge IMO. instead of seeing 70mph at 2100rpm its now at 1900rpm.
IMO the way to go is a 285/75 it'll give you the height w/out the width.

95% Daily driver for me.. Tow a hobby car and camper a few times per year.. Nothing over 7500..
Just put on Nitto DuraGrappler 285/75 - 17 E-3970@80lbs and love how they drive so far. To few miles to tell how they are in regard to mpg. Read around and they got very good comments for over the road and a couple poor for off road use.

Another note..
Stock height on my truck with no rubbing..
285/75(33.86") vs 285/70(32.70")
So you can gain about a 1" height and some gearing on stock suspension.

Yeah I am liking the Toyo in 285/75, just can't find anywhere local to buy them. Nobody seems to sell them and offer free shipping. Nice tires for sure.
