2006 lowering kit 3500 quadcab dually 2wd.
Has anyone heard of or know a company that sells a lowering kit for my dodge. I am stumped on the front suspension.

Gaetz, I have a 2wd SRW QC and have also been researching on how to lower the front an inch or so.
At rest I only have about an inch gap btwn the front lower control arms and the bumpstops.
My plan was to order some dually front coil springs, which hopefully are thicker/stiffer, and then trim them and the bumpstops.
I want to lower the front about an inch.
I have not been able to confirm the Dually front coils springs are thicker and stiffer than SRW front coil springs.
Can anyone with a 2003-07 2wd Dually measure the thickness of their front coils?
As for the rear end, I removed the spacer blocks to drop the rear about an inch. I find the rear springs to be too soft so the plan is to re-arch the heavy bottom leaf and then use the Aim rear lowering shackles to drop the rear another inch.
I still have to tow with my truck but I like it lowered...

aim has a flip kit and lowering shackles. I think you might have to trim the front springs. I cant find any other options.
I pulled the overload spring on mine, flipped the lifting blocks, and added aim shackles. I think the megacab is different.
Call Mcgaughys suspension and tell them to hurry up with their kit. they are supposed to be making one.

BigBegum, great looking truck... The stance is very good.
Did you end up lowering the front at all?
Other than cutting the front coils, which is not a great way to lower anything, a lowered spindle would be required
and it is very unlikely that will ever be available.
I have never heard of Mcgaughys suspension. Do you know where are they located?
Do they have a website?
Thanks, Joe....

the front is not lowered at all. I think I am going to remove another leaf and chop 1/2 a coil off of the front to take it down a little more. Its not really where I want it. Another option would be a lower control arm but I cant find any either. I just dont think there is a big market for these trucks, but i know they share some parts with the megacab so I hope it helps.

Bigbegum, thanks for the link...
I'm leary to cut the original front coils since the front suspension seems so soft already.
It already seems to bottom out easily and shorter springs will not help.
I plan to find out if 2wd dually front coils are heavier and trim those to fit.
Have you upgraded your shocks? I have installed the yellow Monroe gas magnums all around.
They are better than the factory shocks but I still find the suspension too soft.
Just recently does Bilstein offers shocks for these Dodges.

I have spoken to a tech. at airide and he is looking into a kit for me. My 1 ton is veary soft in the front end. It seems like I am always bounceing off of he bumpstops. My 1991 dodge reg. cab longbox 3/4 ton 4x4 rides like tank because the springs are so stiff.

I was hoping the 1 ton dually front coil springs were stiffer.
My truck with the rear spacer blocks removed is pretty much level. I won't be able to lower the rear until I figure out how to lower the front.
I only want to lower the front by about an inch.
I see only 2 options to lower the front correctly at this point:
1. Aftermarket stiffer, lowering front coils.
2. Aftermarket lowering front spindles. The factory front spindles are very heavy duty cast iron. These spindles would be expensive.
I still have to tow with this truck which is adding to my challenge.

I still haven't stopped researching lowering the front of my truck...
I just want to lower it about an inch by trimming the front coils springs but the original springs are already too soft.
I was figuring that a MegaCab Cummins Dually 2wd would have the stiffest/heaviest front springs of any Dodge 2wd truck which has the identical front suspension as my truck. These springs should swap right into my truck.
I searched the local Dodge dealership inventory on-line (so easy to do these days) and found a
2007 MegaCab 3500 Dually 2wd Cummins, 6spd manual at a nearby dealership.
Wow what a nice truck Anyway I was there just to measure the thickness of the front coils right?!!
No test drives, no getting into the Cdn$60k truck...
My 2004.5 2wd QC Cummins front coils are 15/16th inch diameter.
The 2007 2wd MegaCab Cummins dually front coils are 1 1/16th inch in diameter.
The front of the Megacab also feels so much stiffer than mine just by the "hand bounce method".
So it looks like ordering these heavier Megacab coils and trimming them to fit would do the trick. Lower but the springs would be stiffer to prevent bottoming out. Next step is to check cost and availability of these springs at the dealership. For anyone wanting to order these parts the VIN number of the truck makes it easier. The last 8 digits are 7G780766.
Just sharing my thoughts......Joe

I think Thuren has made a set of "lowered" 4x4 springs for somebody..I think I read it on another forum tho..not sure?
Ideally the best way to lower the 4x4 up front would be with new front springs....seem like the oil pan comes in to play real quick as well..I will be lowering mine very soon as well so if anybody knows some thing post up.

Just to follow this up...
I did end up ordering a set of these 2wd Mega-Cab front coil springs using the above Mega-cab VIN number.
They showed up & the coils are 15/16" in diameter. Exactly the same as my original coil springs.
Not the bigger 1 1/16" I was expecting.
The free height, coil diameter and coil count is exactly as my original front coils..
The Dodge dealer double checked his p/n's and he couldn't come up with an answer. His parts system shows many different front coil springs for these trucks but no detail. One needs a VIN number to order these.
This makes no sense, since if I really did own that Mega-cab dually and needed new front coils, I would get the wrong ones.
Anyone have any ideas? I think I am going to try another Dodge dealer to see if they can help.
I know what I measured and now I cannot find a 2wd dually Mega-cab to re-measure or find another VIN number.
There are few 2wd Mega-Cab Dually diesels on here. Any chance someone can measure there front coil spring diameter? Front sway bar diameter too? Perhaps pass on the last 8 digits of their VIN number?
Any help would be appreciated... Thanks, Joe.

I would call Don Thuren @Thuren fab
he can get you some lower hight springs..I bet they are cheaper then dealer replacements too??
BTW the new G56 transmissions have the same part numbers as the old lower geared G56's too...my dealer could not explain it nor could they even get me part numbers..both trucks should the same part numbers even tho they are different ration transmission.
so in other words it's not just the springs that have screwy part #'s

Thanks Mark, but I don't think Thuren is doing much, if any, 2wd suspension stuff. Worth a call though.
It's not the lower height spring that is critical. I need a stiffer front coil spring. Then I can trim it as required for a lower ride height.
I could trim my current stock springs to lower the ride height but they are already much too soft & the truck would bottom out constantly.
It already constantly hits the front bump stops.
Btw, my price was going to be Cdn$150 each for the front coils. Luckily I measured them on the counter before I handed over any cash.
Thanks, Joe..
