16's on a 05
My friend has a set of 16's that he is willing to give me however im pretty sure that it wont fit because my truck is stock with 17's?

Nope, wont fit. 17's are the smallest we can fit on these things.

you can make them fit by shaving the brake caliper, one of my buddies did that so he could use his welds from his 02

change to 01/02 calipers, rotors and brackets and you can do it

how would it lower the gear ratio if the tires are the same size

and unless the 16s have a huge offset there will be alot of grinding

they make 33s, 35s, 36s, and 38s are they different outside diameter because they are on a 16 or a 17 inch rim???

so your saying a tire that is an inch in diameter is going to be the same size as one an inch larger. the only way i could see that is if you buy a way larger 16 then a 17 and that doesnt seem cost efficent
