1500 bucks what to buy?

ok guys i might be coming across some money and im wondering what i should and shouldnt buy. ive got about 1500 to spend and was thinking about getting a few things. im going to be getting a lift pump prolly the mitusa. and was thinking about getting an used ats exhaust manifold, maybe a floor cp3 upgrade a 2micron setup and possibly a good alpine cd player. what im wondering is the ats manifold and floor it needed? or should i save the money for something else? im lookin for 500 horse. the floor it will make the truck more driveable correct and make it stronger all around right?

I would def look into the lift pump and filter setup. I like the ats manifold, it does improve spoolup. I haven't tried any cp3 upgrades yet but am thinking of getting the arson 3 from wicked. Let me know how it works for ya.

No sticks, you don't need the CP3 upgrade. Waste of money. Get an Airdog 100 with the filtration for sure. Then get a TC to go with that transgo shift kit.

I concur. We might have a harder time reaching 500hp, but its not impossible. The Mitusa in my opinion would be overkill, and as an AD 100 owner I am quite pleased with my setup. Plenty of fuel supply for more than 550hp in my case as I barely see the gauge quiver under 15 psi at wot with it turned up. Then as said make sure your tranny can handle being turned up a little more.

dont get the CP3, the DIY CP3 mod is all you need up to 600hp. You need a lift pump first.

The exhaust manifold is only needed if you are upgrading your turbo at the same time. So dont worry about that. I would lean more towards a TC/VP or a full bullet tranny before adding power. there is no use having a motor that can give 500hp if you cant get that power to the wheels.

Get a TC and a fuel system w/ filtration. $1500.00 is now gone. Next, get a pressure box to go w/ that Smarty.

I've been running around 450-500hp on my 06 48re for about a year now with just a VB upgrade and other things from Goerend. I've also used pressure boxes and haven't had a problem.

Maybe being a 2wd makes it that much easier, but also i've gone through 2 OD housings and 2 driveshafts.

The next thing i plan on getting will be a TC but i'm waiting for mine to die first or 50k along with a clutch rebuild kit. As long as you take it easy on the programming you shouldn't stand as big of a risk, even though its still very possible.

If you have the money you should definetly go and get a TC and maybe some new clutches since even with a VB kit these transmissions are pretty notorious for burning 3rd gear band. Think of it this way, a TC's like getting your truck custom made to drive like you want it to. Also like said earlier whats the point of having horsepower or more importantly torque that doesn't reach the ground? If it doesn't reach the ground you know its going somewhere throughout the trans.

Just my .02
