thats not necessarily true. The engines i work on are balanced, but not to the point race engines run. There is definitely much much more than a gram difference in each rotation. And they run 2500 and 3600 horsepower for 45% of their life. Their life being 24,000 hours. Thats a ton of miles in comparison.

When I was taking my performance engine class at Penn Tech we took a 350 and ran it on the dyno 10 times to get a good baseline. We then balanced and blueprinted only and we could see a definite HP increase. Blueprinting is very involved and includes lining up all the crank journals on all axis and making sure the bores are 100% true centerline. That alone will keep loads off of cylinder walls and make sure everything is running 100% true. A correctly balanced and blueprinted 350 is smooooooth! You can sit a cup of coffee on it while on the dyno running at load and there is just a little ripple in it. Sure, I am talking about gas but an air pump is an air pump. It doenst matter what it burns.

I think we are talking about a 12 valve here.
Brett at Industrial Injection is not a flake.
If Brett called over 1200hp he means it......Unless Brett has something up his sleeve I assume it is either a 12v or a nitrous setup.

its on a 16 and 20 cylinder mtu that i work on. but at 2000 rpm and 3600 horsepower youd think that a perfect balance would want to be achieved. But it isnt. There is quite a bit of difference in rotating weights on this engine. It isnt like a huge amount off, but its not by any means 1 gram off. Yes the 2 engines are comparing apples and oranges but as far as rotating weight goes. there isnt much of a difference.
