True, but you can go down the whole path of the 4x4 using slicks too and etc... those times I listed were my own with a puny 446HP!

Its gonna be alot easier for you dip into the 11's since your 2wd if you have traction. 2wd's also have higher trap speeds.

So your basically asking for what it takes to get a 4wd in the 12's, + sticky tires.

Some 2wd's have good luck with 315 BFG AT's at 15psi. Good idea so you dont have to change tires it you decide to got WOT under 60mph.

Also look at Diesel Power's Project X. Its a 03 2wd that runs consistant low 11's on street tires and did the drag week thing.

I saw that... It's a good point and he's right. Take a good look at the mods there and add up the prices and you'll have a good idea of what you are up against!

I just checked out the HP/Quarter mile estimator and 650hp should get you in the 11.7-11.9 range, if you can cut some weight. Remember, every 100lb.= .1 second. Keep your eyes on E-bay for used electronics and of course DTR classifieds. There is 1000 recipes for 650-700 HP so that should not be a problem. Get some kind of ladder bars (like Glacier or something similar) and I would find some way to get 16" wheels on there, there is a lot more choices for slicks.

I bet with trans and quality used parts, 10k would do it, if you do the labor yourself.

Look at my signature and you have the recipe!!! Well, close anyways. Right now as it sits, with nothing more than ladder bars and drag radials added, I would be low low 12's on nitrous. With the added traction plus a simple CP3 upgrade, the "Hot" Juice version and a custom tune from Diablo, I'd be well down into the 11's on the gas, high high 11's fuel only.

Well actually his is an 05 and the Diablo/Juice stack works much better on your 03 than on an 05.

Sorry man. It's just that when you say "budget" it is assumed you don't have much cash to throw at it, and that ain't gonna get you 11s.

So you know you need around $5000 worth of tranny upgrades.
You will also need a turbo in the 66 range for around $2000 and studs to hold the boost $500.
You will need a lift pump $500, cp3 $1100, and injectors $1100-1500.
Of course some exhaust and intake $500-1000.
Gauges to monitor everything $1000.
And as for electronics, there are different routes to go, but if you could get your hands on the Smarty race tune and then add a pressure box like mp8 or Dr.P you'd be pretty good on power. So $1500.
I don't have a clue on suspension setup and tires and such, but the above should give you the power you need.

So roughly $13000-15000 plus suspension, tires, etc. So if that's what you meant by "budget" I'm sorry for pokin' fun at you earlier.

800hp?? He only needs a properly tuned 650.....in fact i know a 4x4 that was running mid 11's on nitrous, and high 11's on fuel....it was making 610 on fuel....if your truck is tuned properly you dont need gobs of power.

omaharam list is a great recipe and his $13K is about right once you add up all the little odds and ends.

So you know you need around $5000 worth of tranny upgrades. (not sure if you need billet shafts cuz 2wd)
You will also need a turbo in the 66 range for around $2000 (Got my Silberbullet for $1,400 DTR classifides)and stud s to hold the boost $500.
You will need a lift pump $500, cp3 $1100, and injectors $1100-1500.
Of course some exhaust and intake $500-1000. ($50 straight pipe $ $75 ****** Whistler)
Gauges to monitor everything $1000.(my friend got a set w/ RP for ($500)
And as for electronics, there are different routes to go, but if you could get your hands on the Smarty race tune and then add a pressure box like mp8 or Dr.P you'd be pretty good on power. So $1500. (Got my Smarty for $600 and MP8 for $200)
I don't have a clue on suspension setup and tires and such, but the above should give you the power you need.

So roughly $13000-15000 plus suspension, tires, etc. (Got my 18" rims for $500 DTR Classifides, Toyo MT $1,200 ouch, 4.5" Superlift w/ Bilstiens $1,200)So if that's what you meant by "budget" I'm sorry for pokin' fun at you earlier.
As you can see there's ways to save a ton of $$$$ by looking in the DTR classifides, craigslist, ebay, and always ask for the hook up

Thanks for heading me in the right direction guys, and apology accepted! Cant I do dual stock cp3's? Also, I swear I saw some decent injectors for around 750. Yes, I'm gonna do the labor by myself, but I will hunt for the lowest prices on good parts. I was figuring about 10-12k for the build, guess I wasn't far off. Thanks again for all of your input everyone!

Sure, dual cp3s would be even better, but it's just more money. Opinions on injectors differ. When I said 1100 I was meaning flux injectors, but yes you can spend less.

Don't skimp on injectors.

If your shootin for 11's you dont want chepo injectors, spend a little more for a nice set of balanced flux's from Don M for $1,100.

Also if you got the $$$ for dual cp3's by all means DO IT!!! It will give you all the fuel you will ever need.
