11 Seconds In 1/4

All of you guys that have done it, what is the cheapest way to do this in a 2wd 2005 ram. Nadp tranny is 4500 plus converter is another 800-1000 so were at about 5500. What else? I want to do this without nitrous, and single turbo. Keep in mind I'm 21 and my budget is pretty tight...SO please, you serious drag racers HELP ME OUT!

you would need at least 100hp injectors, stage 3 cp3, silverbullet, smarty/dr.p predator stack, or PPE/dr.p stack. Then you would need some dyno tuning, and that would get you into the general range needed for a high 11 second run.

So I would say your lookin at $11,000 plus labour....this includes the purchase of the tranny.

Seeing as your truck is a 2 wd, you will have some traction issues,,, you will need to look at some slicks as well as some suspension work

ahhh yes i forgot.....you will either need too find a set of slicks in a 17" or convert the rear brakes to a second gen design too fit a set of 16" rims......also you will need a set of caltracs, and probably need too remove a couple of leafs too get the rear suspension flex that you will need.

Just run 2 leafs and a set of cal-tracs along with some slicks from M&H. They make some for 17"wheels anywhere from 28.5 to 30" tall. With that setup you shouldnt really have any problems hooking up on the track.

At 21 your better off focusing on some other things rather than spending your way to 11's. BTW, in my opinion to do it right you'll need roughtly 12-15 grand to do it right

You need about 800HP. So HUGE fuel/turbo setup, good trans, etc. Trying to get there without N20 is going to be pretty close to impossible on a significant budget, let alone a "budget" budget..

I've spent over $10k (tranny/twins/smarty/odds&ends) just to get to 13's! The first few seconds shaved are the easy part-- getting lower is the hard part. The amount of $$$ spent per tenth of second shaved goes up very fast once you get to the 14's.

I agree it's not really feasible on a budget, but you guys do need to remember that he's got a 2wd regular cab. It will take a lot less for him than for most of us. If mine was a 2wd reg cab I would think low 12s would be no problem.

Well, yeah, there is a big weight difference and mechanical resistance difference too. However, boosted 4wd launch in the 1.65-1.8 60ft range makes up for an awful lot of weight evil!! It also makes for some broken shafts too...

I think with the right rear suspension set-up a 1.65-1.8 60ft. is in no way out of the question. Big ol' slicks do wonders for that. I know I would get off the whole "nitrous is cheating" kick and go that route. You would have a LOT more money to put where it is needed. I have never seen a real 800hp fuel only truck except for the tractor pulls and it looks like it would be a nightmare to drive on the streets.

I guess we all have to learn on our own sometimes. I remember my 74 Nova with 350, 12-1 comp, huge roller cam, tunnel ram intake etc. that looked real cool but was horrible to drive around.
