11/32 drill bit for 1/8" tap?
Can I use an 11/32 bit to drill for an 1/8" npt tap? Says on the tap use q drill bit, but will an 11/32 size bit work?

IIRC, I used a 5/16" bit for my 1/8 NPT tap. If were to use a 1/4" NPT tap, it would a 7/16" drill bit.

I used a 21/64" bit. Worked fine and was available everywhere I looked. Luckily I had one and after sharpening it had no problems. I think it's more important to drill a very straight hole. A bit that's 1/64" + or - probably has less effect on the tapping process than a hogged out hole or one that's improperly cut.
