100 Degree Difference, Both Pre Turbo

SO i put the juice/attitude on today. i now have 2 pre turbo gauges, one being an autometer one being the juice. i have 2 boost gauges, one being actual and one being ecm, a trans temp gauge, and whatever the juice has. I think right now im set.

So at 400 degrees on the autometer, i read 350 on the juice. at 700 on the autometer i read 600 on the juice. I mean if i look on the atttiude monitor at the EGT, add 100 and then look at my autometer, adding 100 is perfectly dead freaking on. 715 on the attitude, right in the middle of 700 and 725 on the autometer. i just dont understand. i was doing 1/4 mile tests on the attitude today. My autometer hit 1550 degrees and the juice was just barely at 1400.

Is there ANY reason why i am getting so much difference in readings? pic below of the 2 pyros. The one on the right, towards the front of the engine is the autometer i have had for 8 months now. the one at the rear, or left, is the newly tapped juice. They are an inch apart and im getting 100 degree difference. Im glad i have my autometer gauge because i would be htiting 1600 degrees no problem and the juice would be telling me 1450

Wich ones is on the rear three cylinders. That one should register a little hotter.

That could be gauge error. Swap the probes around and see if the Autometer is still hotter.

I'm with Marc03 on this one. The rear runners should be hotter than the front. That's why you should always mount the pyrometer on the rear.

the edge is the one towards the rear, reading 100 degrees lower.

??? I guess the only logical thing is what wannadiesel said. Gauge inaccuracy.

Thumbs up pyros

StrokeThisCTD - yep, switch the probes and log the temps under the same (previous) conditions - that'll give you the right correction factor for the true temp. We use pyros for work all the time and even the high-quality brands need to be calibrated from time to time. You're the first guy I've seen (besides me) to run two pyros - but mine are pre & post turbo.
What intake are you running? Check out my super BHAF pics and tell me what you think.
