ya thats been posted on here a few times. its still awesome no matter how many times you watch it. I wonder how much NOS they have on that truck. I bet its alot. they are setting new standards for the diesel world now. when I see a common rail setting new records I love it. makes me wanna laugh at the V8 diesels everytime I see one

I will tell you one thing that I sure dont like about my duramax,, is launching it... unless you drop the torsion bars it will skate all over the place, and that is with less than 400 rwhp. I raced it with just the edge evo 5 psi and it would start to hop and jump,, 10 was insane..... but with 3 it worked good,, ran a 14.6 at 92 MPH

kevin- nasty girl has not run at the track yet to my knowledge...it should run 10's tho when keith does run it....I def agree...sucks launching on the street
thats an awesome video! Isnt that truck 2wd? Pretty cool they can get a 2wd QC to hook up so well..I wish the sound of it was louder so you can hear the cummins...cant really hear it over the music.
stock injector'd dmax has been in the 10's for a while on fuel only
Just a question, whats the limiting factor on the CR cummins's? They've obviously got the hardware (bulletproof internals, etc)...is there some roadblock in the ECM or something??

I think this year will be a big year for the Common Rails, there arent too many limiting factors that havent been overcome already. The guy in the video has basically a street truck with a hot air balloon size shot of nitrous, which is pretty dang impressive, and it stays together. I think we need more RPMs, and that problem hasnt been fixed. Maybe we need EFI live like the Duramax guys, who knows. The stock headgasket can take plenty of abuse, with a set of ARP studs. Dual CP3s or modded CP3s are getting cheaper.

ive watched them run at the drag strip and alot of them do that. they are fast trucks I dont disagree with that. there turbos seem to do alot better with mods than the stockers on the dodges but I will keep something with a cummins in it. I watched a local guy explode a cv joint at the pull. it was his first hook also. I pulled there also and didnt break anything, just couldnt get traction with toyo proxes tires I plan to take mine to the drag strip sometime just to see what it runs. I dont expect much because it takes a while on the street to light up

I launch at around 18psi or so..... RPMs are definately our limiting factor... and fuel pressure issues, although that is seeming to be better now
Kevin
ps Nasty girl ran last year a 10.5 or something like that,, I believe he is running at AAB in Edmonton coming up in 2 weeks,, him and Maddog

is there any link to nasty girl's 10 second run? Keith has not had his built motor for even one year I dont think. He joined the diesel place in mid 2005 IIRC and didnt even have an aftermarket turbo back then.
