I went a different route. I put the MBRP replacement muffler on with the cat delete. It sounds really good.

Personally, I like loud...but with a good tone...Just trying to get some good ideas on what I should do...Also, is it possible to make a 5.9 CTD whistle anywhere close to how the Ford 6.0's do or no?

Is this the piece of pipe MBRP sells as a cat test pipe. In other words you can replace the cat with this pipe?

I did the muffler delete only, and it sounds great, would do it again in a heart beat. The kit cost me $40 and the install was $10 welded.

If you want a whistle, add the AFE Stage II intake.

I bought the delete pipe from Rpm outlet. My thought was that if I needed to take the truck to the dealer I would swap back. Well they clamp the factory muffler on so tight it crimps the pipe pretty good. I had to make several cuts on the muffler to get it off. Since I had to damage the muffler I should of done a whole system of just had a pipe welded in.

those mufflers are hard to get off. the factory exhaust was hard to get off mine with 700 miles on it. get you another pipe for the kitty and it will be louder to. alot louder, but there will be some drone in the cab.
