'04.5+ head for my '03 (will it work???)

Truck is in the shop with blown #4 exhaust valves due to crappy valve seats. So, instead of just rebuilding with like faulty parts, many have suggested to go ahead and use the updated/improved "600+" series head. My question is this:

I need to know if this is a direct strait forward, no nonsense bolt-in or will there be unseen problems with the install???

John you might give TiminVA a call. I know he put an 06 head on his early 04 truck without any issues. IIRC, it is a direct bolt on.

PM me your cost and Cummins part# if you can, please. I've called a few shops and they all need the serial or part# to quote a price on a loaded head.

Thanks for all the help guys. Looks like I may be able to avoid a shipping/core charge from a rebuilder, if the local shop's prices are decent on a brand new head.
