'04.5 EGT Probe Pre-turbo Location?
I know, it's been discussed, and I've done several searches and read most of the posts on this forum; I promise this will be a little different.
Instead of "where do you place the probe?" I'll ask, "has anyone had problems, or felt they're getting poor data, from any of the pre-turbo EGT probe locations?" opnions are welcome.
It appears, for the 04.5, there are two pre-turbo locations that are popular:
1. At the collector just before the turbo (just ablve the flange by ~2")
2. In the manifold collector tube that scavenges cylinders 1, 2, and 3 (per Genos Garage instructions).
3. Any others?
FYI - I'm installing a DiPricol pyro on a bone stock 04.5 soon. The idea here is to weed out any possible problem locations or locations that may give non-optimal readings and get opinions on probe location vs. pryo gauge performance.
Thanks is advance.

I had mine in between #3 and #4 on the log....now I have it reading #5 and #6. I saw a 100-150* jump by moving it from the front to the back. I used the first hole to monitor Drive Pressures.
Either place is good...sustained temps are more important than peak temps.

I put mine between # 3 & 4 with no probs. A buddy put his in the collector while it was still on the truck and now has a cracked manifold. So if you do it in the collecter becareful or pull it off.
