Went out and started the truck up this morning and it started surging at idle. Let it sit there for about a minute to see if it'd go away, but it didn't.

I've had an EZ on it for about a year (been on for about 30,000 miles now), but wasn't really sure if it was the EZ that was causing the surge. I shut off the truck and unplugged the EZ, started it up again and no surge. The truck has about 62,000 miles on it now.

I've heard of guys having this problem with their EZ in the past, but I haven't read anything recently.

Is it possible the EZ is causing this problem? I was going to call Edge tomorrow to see what they would recommend and if it's the problem. I've had it happen before, but the surging went away after a few seconds and I didn't think anything more.

Any response with any experience or recommendation would be appreciated.

Mine did that before. Idled badly but ran fine once I accelerated. I called Edge and they sent me a new box. You will have to pay the around $500.00 which they will refund once they have the old box back.
It's no fun driving one of these SOs w/o the box on it......

Have you changed fuel filter recently mine did somewhat samething changed filter and went away. Engine might lack pressure and chip is acting up from it. Just a thought.

 

No I haven't changed my fuel filter, but it's been close to 6,000 miles since I did it last. I'll be up for a fuel/oil filter change real soon.

As long as there is no harm being done, I'm okay with it. I'm still waiting to call Edge to see if they think it might be their unit.

 

It's the EZ. Call them, send in old, they send you new. Done deal.
