Pulling doesn't really say a whole lot. I think it says who is a better driver moreso than who has more horsepower. Hp and tq have a little to do with it, but in the end if you just mash the skinny pedal and cross your fingers you probably won't pull a loose tooth.

I had a 94 v10 dually and its low gear ratio felt much lower then my 03 cummins.
I don't have the transfer case ratio for either truck just going off memory. Either way the off idle power of the v10 and throttle response is much better. Plus there is a level of throttle control I have not been able to get out of the diesel.
I only had 235/85/16 on that truck but I could control wheel spin in 4 low pulling 10k trailers through the mud. It takes a little more anticipation on the diesel so I don't over rev the weight of the engine. So if neither truck has traction issues then the cummins should win, if 1 loses traction the other should win. If both have traction issues like mud or dirt then I put the money on the v10.
In the end it comes down to the driver, who has more foot control, experience in there ride under those conditions and more patience. Its allot like drag racing, the faster ride don't always win.

You better make it quick, he has the truck for sale on E-Bay. Supposedly 2093 original miles.
