Sure, makes sense, give it a try!

If the Walbro only needs 3/8" line to begin with it shouldn't be that bad, just the 1/4" restriction at the 90º bend at the top of the canister.

There's lotsa threads on here where people modded their canisters lotsa different ways. *****'s was a great help when I did mine and Charlie helped out too.

take me off that list...picked up a liberty canister in only 4 days from www.jeepoemparts.com for $72 plus $10 shipping which ended up being FedEx overnight! I'm going to mod it up and get it in the truck as soon as I can burn 30+ gallons of diesel out of the tank

With running a 3/8'' tube will cause the pump to run much harder with the more restriction it has and will cut your volume. Not letting the pump run to its full potential. Then leading to pump problems in the long run which we will not warranty if the unit was not used with the 1/2" tube. I appreciate all you guys looking for cures to these problems of low fuel on the bigger pumps. We are also doing the same and hope to have something available soon.
hmm that's weird I have guys telling me that pureflow is telling them to hook up their raptor 150 to the stock pick up witch is like 1/4" maybe smaller...
are you telling guys it's ok to do this or not? I have had more then one guy say thats what pureflow recomended it???

I feel we have come up with a solid 1/4tank fix...it just adds some cost to the system......

Someone from here pulled it out of their rear and began saying this without asking. I apologize for anyone that was misled. 53 ****** is correct.
I did an install on a F-250 the other day and it had fittings to go to the fuel tank stock feed. Said the 1/2 straw was optional...It is written right in the directions. We did use the straw, but seems you need a technical writer to review your warranty program and install directions. Not to harass, but if it was my setup and I installed per the directions....You sir would be buying me a new pump.....
