Wore out brake pad in 2k miles, caliper sticking?
Ok guys so heres the story, mid august got home and had a bad brake squeek, crawled under to see a chewed rotor and no pad on the shoe in the rear. So went and got all new hardware changed it all out and everything is good. last few days been hearing a squeek that i thought would be a u joint, crawled under the truck to inspect that and noticed that shoe is almost wore out again. The left side is still over 50%( was not changed when the rs went bad so has about 100k on them) but the RS new pads just made it 2100 miles.
No signs of heat before, i thought the inner pad fell off. but it seems it wore out. Stuck caliper seem right?
Any upgraded calipers that i could get since im changing them?

It souns like a seized caliper;however, I am not aware of any upgraded calipers marketed for third gens. I particularly like the longevity that Napa calipers provide. Be sure to clean and grease the slides while performing the replacement. I also recommend flushimg ou the old the brake fluid at this time, in order to remove any contaminates from the system.

yeah ive seen brake hoses do it before but dont know that is the problem, i did flush the system when i put the new pads on. never have had to replace a caliper just for a pad change, it musta been frozen before hence the last pad failure. oh well. live and learn! just wanted to see if there were any upgrades!

why calliper's go bad on the back axle is the fact that the rear axle takes all the wash from the front wheels as well as the dirt that gos with it as the pads wear the pistons are more exposed to grime and you push them in for new shoes they tend to hang up
