Transmission 68RFE Upgrades?

I am deleted and running the H&S Mini Maxx and am now planning for my future projects.

1) What kind of transmission upgrades should I do if I want the transmission to be able to handle the hot power settings?

2) What kind of engine upgrades should I do if I want the engine to be able to handle the hot power settings?

Thanks!

what type of driving style do you have? if you drive it like you have to pay to fix it and are cautious you shouldn't have too many issues with it if you put in the overdrive software.
if you tow heavy and often you are most likely looking at a built tranny of some kind, pick your flavor on whom you have build it.

the engines survivability will need answers to the same set of driving habit questions

Wade,

I plan on driving the truck like I'm the one doing the maintenance on it. I don't plan on driving it real hard but would like to take advantage of some of the extra power without worrying about breaking something. I occassionally tow things and want the truck to be able to tow something through the Phoenix heat without breaking down.

My brother in law is a heavy duty diesel mechanic and will be coming down for Christmas. My thought was to ask him to replace the head-gasket studs while he's here and do anything else to the motor that I could do. Then I thought about replacing the clutch and doing a few minor transmission upgrades as well.

But because I live in Phoenix, I need to be able to return the truck to stock so that I can pass emissions which means that whatever upgrades I make, I need to make sure they won't throw any codes with the Mini Maxx removed.

ok, so we have similar driving styles and towing habits by the sound of it, I have pulled a 24' gooseneck stock trailer with a load of bulls on with my mini maxx turned up on hot, so far I have not seen any ill effects from it, that being said this fall yet I want to do another transmission fluid change and will find out if there are any shiny or chunky bits in the pan from thelast year of driving and advise you as to what I find.

the phoenix heat will require some input from someone who deals with it on a regular basis, our definition of heat up here is approx 90 degrees F
any internal upgrades wont cause a check engine light when you remove the mini as long as you leave the factory turbo in it......

If you have a mini maxx, the OverDrive tuning is worth the money. If you're gonna be running the HOT/Performance setting, a set of head studs would be number one on the want list.
