My guess would be that they don't have ULSD yet nor do they have the tight emission laws we do.

I've had my 08 for 2 months now and do mostly in town driving. No problems yet with the DPF System. It says that if it get's full all you have to do is drive for 40 minutes or so at 50 MPH or more (Freeway) but so far so good here. Most of my trips are less than 10 miles. I do allow warm up and cool down time though because for those 10 miles I drive it like I stole it

Whatever you do,don't buy a Chevy! If you want a half ton truck, why not look at the new Dodge.IMO its the nicest looking truck out there.Nicest interior too.-Andy.

Think they put that on hold, we'll be waiting longer for the 1500 diesel.

For those on this thread talking about not having a problem with the 2008 6.7’s,
All are having problems! If yours is running now, and is still bone stock, it will not be running for long.
Go back a few months, and read the post on this site.
Remove the EGR! And Remove all of the Exhaust! Install something to clear codes, and the engine will be fine for now, now running a program other than on stock setting, and you will start to have clutch problems.
I have spent around $2500.00 in extras, and it’s running great. It runs on the highway, in town, and I can let it sit and idle for hours. I average 19.8 to 20 MPG
That said, I don’t think the problems will ever stop, and I am doing a little research as to going back to a 1996, 3500.

Well, I must admit it. I am now a fan of the 6.7L . I thought it would be impossible for me to like anything other than the 5.9L, but I was wrong. The new engine performs so good with the 68rfe transmission. You won't be disappointed!
