Are there any additional menus or features in the existing menus on the OHC now that you have the TSB? I just went out there and there is nothing through the menus that mentions a regeneration and i really have no idea if i will be seeing a message (if, in fact, the TSB was even loaded with the AO flash) showing a regen since my mileage is almost purely highway and i really don't know if i have ever been in regen before. i really need a pyro...

So, has anyone figured out what this TSB flash actually does to the overhead display or anything?

Since I don't have the owners manual supplement or visor decal I have no idea if there is supposed to be anything that is different on the OHC when the truck ISN'T in regen. Also, due to the fact that 80% of my miles are highway, I have no way of knowing whether or not I have ever gone into regen before, let alone am going now. I reiterate, i need a pyro...

The last time my truck was in, they flashed it to the AX load (about a month ago). Are the AP or AO loads newer than the AX?

The AX flash is the latest (that i know of) for the 07.5 trucks. The AO/AP pertains to the 08 model year trucks.

On a side note, at 13200 miles, I got my first MIL light today, approximately 36 hours and 150 miles after getting the AO flash. I KNEW I shouldn't have messed with this thing. I KNEW going to the dealer was going to cause more problems than it solved. The truck is going in today to get checked out. I am so ticked at myself for taking the truck and letting the damned dealership mess with it when there wasn't anything wrong to begin with. 13000 trouble free, beautiful miles and now I fear I am about to end up in the boat that so many others are posting about...constant trips to the dealer, constant problems, constant band-aid fixes that don't help or fix anything...wish I could redo yesterday, i would have avoided the damned dealership like the plague. Will update as I find out what the problem is.

So does the AX load include this overhead update? Or is the overhead update only for the '08s?

I've been considering the Edge Insight to monitor the regen stuff, but if this overhead update will take care of that, I can save $300!!!

I don't know about which flash will include it with the 07.5. The TSB is for both 07.5 and 08 trucks, though. I was under the same mindset you are, kamperhauler. I have been thinking of investing in a pyrometer to measure EGT's and determine when, if at all, i am going into regen. I figured if i could have the overhead flashed it would save me the money of the gauges. At this point, i wish i would have kept my truck out of the dealers hands and bought the pyro. Take that for what it is worth, i am still pretty hot over seeing that MIL this morning.

Just called my dealer...they are going to load the software up on Monday. I'm hoping that it does all I want it to so I don't have to buy an Edge Insight!

I hope I don't get any MILs like you did, BroncoHound!! If I do, I might still get the Insight to deal with those.

I checked the MIL with the turnkey method and it came back p0406. I checked it with my scan tool and it came back p0400. Both are EGR related issues. The dealer can't take a look at it until Tuesday morning. I cleared the code with my scan tool and will see if it comes back. I have about 600 miles planned for this weekend in the truck so that should give me a good idea 1)if i am going into regen, whether or not the overhead will tell me and 2)whether the code being thrown was a fluke or whether it is a recurring problem that I will need to get the dealership to look into. I will update as I learn more throughout the weekend.

Just got back from a little travelling this weekend. I put 280 highway miles on the truck on Friday, 270 miles on the truck Saturday, and 80 miles on the truck today for a grand total of 630 highway miles with no more than 25 city miles or so. I had the cruise control set on 62mph nearly the whole way (1500rpms). She got a hand calculated 17.2mpg at this speed, all highway all unloaded. I did not see a single message on the overhead display and can't see any difference in the way the truck is running. Im not sure what to think about this mystery TSB just yet. The plus side is that the MIL has not come back on and the truck doesn't drive any different so, until it becomes an issue, i am not going to let my truck get in the hands of the dealer.

On a side note, I put 610 miles on my work truck ('01 Ram 3500 2wd QC DRW CTD NV5600 3.55 gears 330,000 miles) on Thursday night/Friday morning and got a hand calculated 19.1mpg @ 64mph with about 20 minutes of idle time at the rig. I just LOVE this emissions equipment, don't you?!?!?!?!

4x2 vs. 4x4, 3:55s vs. 3:73s makes a big difference.

I don't see the big difference. It seems like 1500 RPM is just right for driving 62 MPH. The '01 is a dually. The 4X4 system doesn't really cause as much drag as I thought it did. My mileage has not changed enough to notice with my hubs disengaged.

The pre '04.5 3rd gen trucks just get better mileage and the 12 valves do really well. Now it seems the 6.7s are worse than the newest 5.9s. Sad.

For the sake of accuracy, the '08 has 3.42 gears. it is, however, lugging around 35" tires that are 13" wide...

I picked up my new truck last Wednesday. When I asked my dealer about it, they had already performed the update. I have the sticker on my visor and the Manual supplement. Haven't seen any messages yet but only have 300 miles on her so far.

I do have a question. Where is the Flash version sticker? There is a sticker under the hood on a black box, passenger side firewall. It has a S/W identification number, but ends in AD. Is this the correct sticker?
