Something New For '08's..Goat Roper 67

After waiting very impatiently for 12 weeks for my 2007.5 Mega Cab 4x4 to
arrive you can understand how happy I was when it finally came in Tuesday
and about the only thing right was the "exterior" color....It wasn't the dealer's
fault, just a very big factory goof.To make things right my dealer is selling me
an 08 cheaper than I was going to get the 07.5.......Some things that were
options are now standard....one (Laramie H pkg) is REMOTE START. Hope it
works this year!!!!
Also tire monitoring pressure system is offered std., if I remember correctly.
Also chose daytime running lights since I think they are a safety factor. Maybe when the new one gets here "REV B" will no longer be an issue too.
Gaining one year "appreciation " for less money makes me feel a lot better.
If anyone in the Ark-La-Miss needs to be steered to a good dealership, just
PM me & I'll gladly help.

Perhaps a dumb statement since I'm assuming your truck is diesel. Remote start was not even available in 07 on either motor. I was told that was due to it being diesel. Cool option though...

I think they start releasing the new models in August/September each year

You can order 2008 Rams now. Several are for sale on eBay.

I might be wrong, but I think any ram build after the 4th of July shutdown is considered an '08 model. My previous '01, I ordered during the 1999 X-mas shutdown, was delivered in March 2000 was a 2001.

So when you say cheaper, does that mean the dealer discounted the truck below invoice? They're offering invoice minus $3500 in rebates her where I live. On in stock trucks of course. I doubt you could do that on a build out unit.

Also, I don't own one (yet) However, on my test drive the sales person told me there isn't a wait to start andymore? So the remote start seems plausible to me.

I can't see how they would do away with the wait to start since you'll need the heaters to run in colder weather (which is the whole point of waiting). And even with the wait to start light, you can still run a remote start. It just has to have a countdown timer or pick up a feed from the wait to start light.

But I had no idea Dodge was putting it in their trucks, and especially not as a standard feature.

WTS light is still there, but the "light bulb" check on 2005 and earlier trucks is gone, so if the engine does NOT require grid heat to start, the WTS light will not come on at all (unlike before where it would come on for a second to check the bulb).

remote start obviously only on 68rfe vehicles.

so can anyone post a link to where i can "build" a 08 on dodge's website. Im going to order one and would like to know all the available options as it sounds like there are a lot more for 08 and i would definitely love a remote start!

Remember you can add an aftermarket remote start device which works just as good as anything from the factory and it costs about $250

yeah i know you can but you can usually get little options like that cheaper when factory installed, for example cab lights or upgrading gear ratios. Plus its under warranty. If its an option and its cheaper then might as well...

2008 Cost

After firguring head to head on a comparable 07/08 Megacab Laramie FH
package, the 2008 model was $368 more, but when looking at additional
features between the two year models, the 08 was more for the money.
Dealer is also discounting 08 a little further to compensate for the "R.A.
FACTOR" associated with my first order and the factory screw-up.
