Smok'n deal on a new '07, now what?

I cannot believe the deals you can get out there now a days...

I just bought a new '07, 2x4, six seed man, 6.7 ltr, man windows/door locks/tow mirrors, tow pkg, limited slip diff, mat's/carpet and upgraded seat for $19,485. Yes, $20k off sticker...

Now, what do I need to do to keep from having the engine issues? Take it to the dealer early or wait for the issue to show up?

I've got 230 miles on her and she runs perfect. Doesn't seem to be as smooth and powerful as my '04.5 but she's close. I am getting better fuel mileage with the new truck but its too soon to tell how much better.

Now I have to decide if I'll sell the '04.5 or not...

Cheers,
Ron

Better hang on to the 04.5 until you know if you got a "always in the shop" queen of a 6.7L; there still seems to be lots of problems w/ 6.7s around here; so my SR tells me.

Wow! I would have bought two. That way you can drive the one while the other is in the shop for the soot codes....
Just Kidding. That is just an unbelieveable deal! Welcome to the 6.7 club....

And believe it or not, I really could have bought two of those for less than I paid for my loaded truck. I love having all my options though.....

Delete the DPF and EGR and you'll never have any trouble.

The dealer won't do anything unless there is a problem. The only preventative action I think you could take is to do as txpig said and as quickly as possible before things really get sooted up. On the other hand, there are plenty of trucks with no issues. Maybe yours will be one of them but if it's not it will become very frustrating dealing with the soot issues...
And if you think your mileage is good now then you should see it once the EGR is unhooked.....

We dyno diesels for the E-Check every year here in Las Vegas. Will it still pass the sniff test with the delete or will I need to put it back together?

I'm not to hip on having the CEL on all the time either... Just the acft mech in me I guess...

Thanks!
