Radiator Rock Guard?
Guys,
I noticed a big gap (right between the tow hooks) between the bumper and lower air dam/valance of the front end of my new 07 2500. And sitting right there, all ready to get punctured or dented is one of the radiators or coolers. Are there any aftermarket screens available to solve this issue and protect the radiator, or has someone come up with a home brewed fix? I'm sure I can drag out a hunk of expanded metal and cobble something together, but why re-create the wheel, eh?

Here's a condenser guard at Geno's Garage.

My furd-driving buddy lives on a dirt road and used a tight (1/4") wire mesh, like a rabbit cage or something is made out of. Doesn't look too bad when the hood's down, but it is a 6.0 so that's not very often.

That guard from Geno's looks like just the ticket, got one ordered already. I may still fab something up to go behind the bumper that you won't see that is a little heavier just in case you get a tree limb or something poking through there off road.
Thanks!
Thanks!

That Kilby guard does look pretty stout, seeing it in a large picture like this. I assume it extends all the way down to cover the entire condenser? Whats your tip about bending it or something so it doesn't buzz?

Yeah, it goes all the way to the bottom of the condenser, and wraps around the bottom corner in the same way that it wraps around the top corner.
It's secured between the factory mount brackets (visible in the photo) and the condenser. I think mine got tweeked a bit in shipping, so that the bottom and top edge weren't tight enough agaist the condener and could buzz... I just kind of bent it slightly so that the top and bottom edge would be tighter agaist the condenser when bolted in place.
If you get one, you will see what I mean.
As I recall the only other trick to installing it was using a 1/4 box wrench or a vice grip to hold a bit in order to remove the lower mounting bracket screws, as the bumper prevents getting in there with a regular screw driver type tool.

Got it, thanks. Ill let you know how it turns out. I've got a big installation weekend coming up. I need to install this grill guard, a 2" level kit, rear air suspension and a Commander gauge set.

I've never found the ones that work with tow hooks. I'm still looking myself.
