Quad Cab Dually Fuel Mileage...
I was thinking about getting a dually for a number of reasons.
I was thinking '06 5.9 4x4 with a 6-speed.
Now, the only thing that may stop me is these figures (because the truck would be a DD).
What kind of gas mileage do you Quad Cab Longbed dually owners see?

13.5 city / 15-16 hwy. Thats the overhead read out so you could probably subtract 1-2 mpg from that figure. Having a 5.9L will get better gas mileage than the 6.7L though. I like my dually but I don't haul all that much anymore and if you are not hauling then you are paying for extra tires and getting less mpgs than a SRW. I would like to go to a SRW longbed since i don't pull as much

best I ever got was around 17.5 all highway empty and running about 60mph. Most of the time I averaged in the low 16's mixed highway/ small town traffic. That's empty with a smarty on various tunes. stock tires.

Mine's an 05 with the 5.9 and a 6sp, but I get 13-14 in town and anywhere from 14-19 on the highway, depending on my right foot. Now that I added a Smarty, that's up a few points.
Like somebody else said... if you NEED a dually, get it... if you don't, trust me, it'll just be a PITA.

Currently have 14K and all the values I have listed are from the overhead. I have definitely noticed an increase in MPG as the mileage increases. Initially, I never got out of the 13's in city and 14's on the hwy. Now I have seen as high as the 18's on the hwy and 14's in city. What really makes the difference on my hwy mileage is speed and headwind. I can consistently get in the 17's and 18's if I am running around 67 or 68 MPH, providing there is no headwind or a slight tailwind. If I am bucking a 15/20 MPH headwind, my mileage drops to the 14's and 15's. Increasing my MPH to 75 will cause a drop to the mid 14s. Obviously all of this depends on terrain. Since I live in south Texas, most of my driving is through pretty flat country. If I could ever teach myself to reduce my acceleration from a stop, I am sure I would get even better in city. But alas, that appears to be an impossibility. Maybe when diesel gets to $10/gallon, I will learn.

I have a 13k miles on mine now and after the lift and 35's I am getting 12 mpg overall almost every tank. I dont think this is too terrible and cant complain because I chose to trash my mileage for the lift and tires.

My truck is doing very good. I just got back from a 600 mile trip, and my overhead said 22.6 MPG. This was all highway driving. My hand calculation was 22.1 MPG. My MPH was 60-65 on level ground. I now have 50,000 miles on it and love driving it everyday. The truck is all stock, except for my Sig.
