NoX absorber, particulate filter, closed couple catalyst (CCC)?

Does anyone know if the exhaust system components on the 6.7 have to be replaced at xxx,xxx number of miles or will the components have the same life span as the exhaust pipe itself?

In talking with engineering they went over 150K without an issue, of course that can vary with usage. The "putt around lifted show pony look at me" crowd will need the dpf replaced more than the "my truck is a tool to pull my goods" type...basically, if the truck is USED like a truck it will live a long life with good fuel. There is a "perform service" message that will indicate that you need to replace the CCV filter, clean or replace the EGR cooler, and clean or replace the EGR valve. At this time I would recommend NOT using any additives on a 6.7.

There was a post here several weeks ago that included a Powerpoint presentation from Cummins. It indicated that the exhaust and emission control system components should last the life of the vehicle. The "life" of the vehicle was defined as 200,000 miles + or - depending on how it is used. You may need to have your DPF cleaned (not replaced) if you accumulate excess ash as it does not get burned up during regen like the soot does. Using poor quality or non-ULSD fuel, using motor oil that is not CJ-4 rated, and using any fuel additives may result in excess ash accumulating in the DPF.

i would agree with the 200k quote.. as long as you never clog it all the way up.. Because as soon as you do that, the dealerships just replace the DPF/CAT with new parts and dont even bother to clean them.
