Not a mechanic.
I am new to this but I need some real answers from REAL Dodge mechanics. I am getting so much differing info I do not know what to believe. First I changed the fluid in my 4x4 gear housing( I CANNOT BELIEVE DODGE DID NOT PUT A DRAIN PLUG ON THEM) What amount of torque do I apply on the bolts holding on the pan? I used 75/90 oil. On the front I put in 4 oz. of Champion limited slip differential axle additive concentrate. Was that the correct thing to do? I put in about 3 and 3/4 quarts of this oil and it started running out of the fill hole yet the dealer said it would take 4.4 quarts. Last thing is while I was under there I noticed on the flywheel? behind the fan about an inch worth of teeth are missing. Is this normal? It is A 2007 Dodge diesel with about 77,000 miles. Thanks.

I am not a Dodge mechanic, but do know just enough to be dangerous.
When you say the 4X4 housing, are you referring to the transfer case? Don't know about the 2007's, but I think that for that you should be using ATF4 oil. Maybe somebody else will chime in and correct me.
You said you changed the oil in the front. Are you talking about the front axle. If so, did you remove the cover to drain the oil? Our axles do not require he use of limited slip oils as far as I know.
Those missing "teeth" are on the tone ring and are supposed to be missing.
