Angry My new truck gave cel already

Went to crank Friday morn, there you go cel. Drove for a couple of miles & at about 120 degrees, my fan comes on & stays on. I brought it to dealer & he calls me 6 hours later & tells me that he re flashed my computer & nothing was really wrong. Then he told me drive it like it is & if it goes over 200 degrees again, bring it back in. I told him I'm an ex 18 wheeler driver & an avid gage watcher & that not only didn't it go over 200, but happened in my driveway at start up. Went to pick it up & I repeated what happened, he told me again that if it went over 200 again, bring it back in. Man they are stuck on that. I told him again that it happened at start up on a 60 deg morning none the less, while I was telling him, he was looking the other way like I didn't know what I was talking about. I said I wanted a copy of what they did so I can keep track.

Did you cycle the key On/Off/On three times to get the error code?

I tried that

I tried cycling it 3 times, then turned it on again & waited, nothing showed or I did it wrong. I did this 3 times & nothing. Is there a certain order?

IIRC its On/Off/On/Off/On and wait for the codes. I’ve been told on some trucks it can take a minute or so for the codes to show up if it has one.

on our 07.5..the overhead console let the message "oil change required" at 6800 kilo (4250k) so the oil was changed but the message was still there+it throw a "cel" then i have reseted the overhead console and the code have gone by itself but comeback again the day after....so i checked what cel it was with my code reader!! surprise no code??? at the end i have reseted the "ecm" and the "cel" never go back!!

with the millions of sensor that the 6.7 have,it tend to "bug" sometime!! so to the future owner,be prepare to drive often with a "cel" on your cluster...lollll

Try reading the owners manual, it tells you how to reset it correctly. "Oil Change Indicator".

How long did you drive it AFTER the change oil indicator came on? I'm guessing a while. Its is fine for now because you reset the ECM. I'll make it easy for you......page 156 in the owners manual.
