More Frequent "Catalyst Full" messages

I have 75,000 miles on my 6.7l now and it seems that since about 60K I have gotten the Catalyst Full message about once a month now for the past 3 months, (I do about 5-7k a month)

Prior to this I never had the message as 95% of my mileage is highway - my office is 600 miles away and I go there every second week!

Is this normal? Is my DPF coming to an end?

what speeds do you travel at? A lot of ppl with gauges are claiming that the regen never is affective at dropping the filter load unless they are btwn 50-60mph. You may give that speed a try for a month and see what happens.

that flash is supposed to help with soot production, but ive read from many ppl that got it, that it only caused more problems then it helped. I will not be getting the AX flash if i can avoid it. It probably does help with the DPF by creating more often regen cycles, but everyone ive talked to started have problems with their turbos after that flash. Of coarse some had problems before but lots started having problems only immediately after getting the flash

I had the AX flash in March. No problems for 5K miles (15K total now). I had a new turbo last July after only 3K miles though. My thinking is that there is a reason for releasing a new flash, so I get it as soon as possible. Works for me, your results may vary....

thats what i thought as well, it was all for the good of the game.

Sabersix, have you noticed a decrease in your Exhaust brake performance since the AX flash?

Can't say I did. I run it all the time and it seems to behave the same; slows truck to 1100 rpm then cuts out. Occasionally it will kick back on when the truck downshifts at around 15 mph. I don't run in Tow/Haul mode or tow anything, so have no point of comparison there.

I'd ask them if your truck has had the latest Rapid Response Transmittal 08-024 applied to it. Seems it was missed on a recent update on mine and caused all kinds of problems.

Watch your tailpipe - if it gets black you've got a problem and likely a bad DPF.

On the overhead - its part of the ECM associated with the 6.7L engine. You won't get it with a 5.9 as you don't have the DPF filter.

lol, that's far from perfect... that's the entire problem right there. diesels aren't designed for nothing to get through! i had the ax, then had to have the turbo and dpf cleaned (also had turbo replaced). the only good thing about that service, was immediately after, as i was driving home my entire exhaust system mysteriously fell off. oh and odd as it sounds, so did the egr. trucks runs better than it ever has and fuel mileage went from around 12 to 15.8mpg! needless to say i didn't look to hard at getting the oem stuff back on.
