Looking to purchase, need some information
I'm looking at an '07 with the 6.7, and a manual transmission. Truck has 44k miles.
How long does the clutch last in these trucks (I know there are a lot of variables that affect that - just a general consensus of those with experience). The two previous 5.9's I've owned with sticks were driven less than 30k miles before they were traded.
Also, is there a place I can easily enter the vin# for a warranty/repair record?

I can not help on the clutch since I have an Auto.
Now here are a couple of sites that I use:

There are more but for now this should help you.
Good Luck.

I ran my 2000 up to 180,000 Edge EZ miles before the thrust bearing started dragging. The wrench said the clutch looked like new, but there was no way he would go that far and not put in a clutch and surface the fly wheel.
My 2004 was sold with 185,000 stock miles and it did not have any slippage.
Others will get 30,000 or 40,000 miles and have "faulty" Clutches .

i assume as long as you own your vehicles that you shouldnt worry about the clutch if the truck is stock. also if stock you should have a good warranty from mopar that should cover it. the g56 is fine under stock hp. Me personally i love my 6.7 with a stick but also previously stated the clutch does slip when you add a fair amount of power. Mine has slipped time to time for quit a while now and its still moving lol. cant wait for it to go so i can justify a good dual disc/flywheel package.

in all honesty the clutch is the weakest part of the in the drive system. the dual mass flywheel is junk. in stock form i will say the clutch is barely adequate, and even if you tow heavy and often, that can cause it problems. if you plan on ANY power modifications, plan on a new clutch first. i replaced mine @ 12k or 14k miles after running the Edge on 3. there is a reason the G-56 comes with 610lb/ft of torque versus the 650lb/ft in the auto. the clutch is at it's limit from the factory. as for the "warranty" stated above, you'd better not have a single mod on the truck when you take it in. and even then the factory warranty on the clutch is 12 months OR 12k miles, whichever comes first of course. it's a good tranny that will hold up to power, just set $1500-$2000 aside for a clutch that should have been put in the truck to start with.
