Knee injury and feedback from 6.7 manual owners

What is "floating" gears? Is that shifting without using the clutch, once rpms match trans/clutch speed it drops in gear??
Some people like to shift their own gears, like me. GM probably lost customers by not offering a manual transmission on their current trucks.

Floating on a big rig is easy enough. But the smaller diesels take a little more coordination. On a big truck, you get the RPM and speed up. Then you let the RPM drop to the point it would be in the next higher gear and float it in. On the down shift, it's just the opposite. You pull into neutral and bump the RPM up to where they would be for the speed your going in the next lower gear. Tap the RPM up, let of the go peddle and float it down a gear. Takes practice, but it can be done.
I have driven the new 6 speed and it is way cool. More than likely will be going for it.

I'm north of Dallas, TX. The dealer will do a search for me once I get everything in place. I'm getting it from the flagship dealer for the MegaCab longbed conversion. They are going to get the stretch done, B&W hitch, Firestone RideRite bags, spray in bedliner. The issue has been finding a truck equiped the way I want it. Looking for a SLT with top of the line audio with GPS, tow hooks, light group, engine heater, 4.10 rear with auto trans. Would like the Patriot Blue but will go with a Silver as well.
