It's definitely not a tranny lock. Is does it coming out of drive and going into neutral, reverse, or park. If it only did it going into park I would not be concerned.

not sure what you mean by this. the allisons have a standard park pawl just like every other auto, except its just a *#()load bigger than other auto's park pawls'.
