Has anyone idled the 6.7 for extended time
I was wondering if anyone has let their truck idle all night for example. I have a job where we have always done that with are previous trucks, but I heard the 6.7 should not be allowed to idle.
Let me know what you guys have experienced.

I think all night is going to be a stretch. I have let mine idle for about an hour and it was fine, however my dealer told me no longer then 25 min. I think the only way to find out is try and watch for the Cataylst 90% to come up.

3 hours this summer while irrigating tobacco. No problems at all. Left the ac on cold and read a diesel power magaziene and listened to playboy radio. Did this for at least 2 months on and off. Not once did it result in anything bad.

If you will notice Swinco has a Cab and Chassis. The pickup flashes do not work on the cab and chassis. I know, I had mine really screwed up when a dealer tried to put a flash on my truck, it was for a pickup. It took another dealer several days and many calls to Star to get things right. To my knowledge there are no flashes for the Cab and Chassis. Any flash needs to be checked with your VIN to make sure it is right. Any techs out there can correct me on that if I'm wrong. I've never idled mine overnight, but I have idled mine for longer than 4 hours at 900-1000 rpm with nothing showing up on the overhead. Actually did it today for about 5 hrs.

Yep, but sometimes when you are sitting at a rig waiting to get 65 joints of pipe unloaded and they aren't ready to take it, that's what happens. Me and three other trucks. That's OK, after the first hour, I get $50 an hour dentition time.

Is there a TSB like on the previous engines to get the high idle enabled?
Found out the other day when I wanted to increase the idle for a faster warm up that the dealer did not enable it. If theres a TSB I can get it enabled without charge at any dealer. Any help is appreciated.
