Arrow EGT Gauge Probe Installation Drill/Tap or not???

I bought and recently installed a Westec boost/EGT gauge in my 2008 6.7 CTD. I’ve hooked up the boost side using a Geno’s garage intake manifold bolt but I’ve yet to decide if I’m going to drill and tap the exhaust manifold (pre turbo) or weld a 1/4 NPT bung into the exhaust about 3” down from the turbo (post turbo). I know the pros/cons of pre and post turbo installation. (i.e. temperature difference and gauge reaction time). I would defiantly prefer to install it pre turbo!
My first question: is there a super secret predrilled spot on the manifold I haven’t found, and if so where is it?
Second question: has anyone had any warranty issues with the dealer after drilling/taping the exhaust manifold and if so what were they?
Third and final question: where did you drill and tap because there’s not much room without the removal of emissions junk to drill and tap. I drilled and taped my old 12V years ago but there was more room under the hood on that old shaker than the new 6.7. Photos would be very helpful if anyone can post them.
Thanks!!

I had similar reservations when I installed IssPro gauges on my 07.5 6.7L. There are pictures on the Diesel Manor site that show where to drill and tap for the egt probe. It is difficult to get to that spot but if you have a right angle drill motor it can be done. I believe that if I remember correctly the spot to drill is 2 inches up from the flange and 5/8 inch toward the back of the engine from the center line of the exhaust manifold.

EGT Gauge Probe Installation Drill/Tap or not???

I just installed my gauges this weekend. I have attached two pictures at the bottom of the post. I will be towing a 5 fiver and I believe the gauges are needed to keep an eye on the EGT and Trans.
I have 3600 miles on the truck as of now and only been to the dealer once for a p0128 code so, I do not think I will have very many issue with this engine.
