Thinking about buying Aero Turbine 4040 for my 08 MegaCab diesel is anyone getting better fuel millage.

 

only thing the aero4040 did for my truck was make it drone BAD......its gone now. and no i didnt see any increase in mileage. just my .02

what do you mean by drone dad?

 

uhhhhhhhhh.........well it make the interior very loud pretty much anytime you were on the throttle......only time it was quiet is if yer gliding down hill. heck i dont know some people might like that sort of thing, but it grew old with me real fast. I dont mind loud outside the truck but i dont want to have to yell to talk the the passenger.

 

i have it on my 5.9 and i am not going to lie towing anything heavy at over 2000 rpm is deafening in the cab just for normal driving i really like the sound and dont think its that loud in the cab you can talk probably a little louder than normal, with the window open its a little louder, if you tow a bunch dont get it and i didnt see any noticable mileage gains from it, if any they were not enought to justify the cost of the muffler based on mileage gains alone

 

I have one on my truck and it does hit a bad resonance over 2k under load and no it doesn't do anything for your mileage in my experience.

I will probably replace it soon.

 

Do you think it is allowing the truck to breath better and wont cause egt carbon up of the cat?

 

I had an AeroTurbine on my '04 with a 6spd. The trick with those tubes is to mount them as close to the downpipe as possible. Mine had NO drone. In fact, it was a lot like my straight-piped '98 but smoother and less bite to the sound. A quality piece if you ask me......
