Anyone Ever Have Their Starter Quit?

Yesterday my starter just quit, with no warning at all. So I check it out, pull my starter in the parking lot cleaned up the solenoid contacts, bypass the relay and nothing!? Just a faint click from the solenoid. I didn't have a test light with me so I waited until I got it towed home and verified everything, and yup starter is pooched? To top it off i was headed home to hitch up my fifth wheel to go camping. Well no one in my area stocks theses things, and guess what they are pricy! I was quoted $1000-$1200, no joke, I opted for a reman $325. Still 3 days away, anyways thats my rant

never had starter problems. from the sounds of it i hope i never do in the future. sorry for the bad luck, My 05 would only have problems just as I was planning to go camping, must not have liked the 5th wheel. 05's long gone now though had a bad dealer in town and traded it in the city. Good luck with the camping prospect now (can't keep an extra pulling back up vehicle).
