Are you using 2-cycle oil?

To those that do how long have you been using it? Pros-Cons of using? I used to use it to keep some of the noise down on my engine and even had my best to date milage on it. Then milage went down alittle, then just stopped using it because of all the debate if its bad or good for engine. Any comments? BTW I started using it back when ULSD was first coming out and everyone was worried about the lubricity or lack of with the new fuel.

Thanks

Use it just make sure you use ashless. It ain't gonna hurt it for sure. I was told by mechanic at Freightliner to use about 12 ounces to a tank. It is also suppose to help out that FCA valve from trashing up.

I started useing 2/3oz per gallon in '06 and have used it ever sence. I do not use it for an increase in mileage but for lubrication of the injectors. The only time I do not use it is when I can get B10 or B20 fuel which isn't very often.

I never saw much of an upside to using TCW3. The truck actually felt a little sluggish and saw no mpg benefit. I used 1/2oz per gallon. I stopped using it.

But Dad's '99 24v, the truck loves it.

I've been using TCW3 for a couple of years now. I can tell a difference in the sound from a tank without it to a tank with it. I use a quart per tank.

Yeah I may give it another go, so not much if any mileage gain? Any noticeable loss?

I use it time to time because it makes the truck a lot quiter.

1/2 a quart every 20 gal fill up for 3 years. Injectors are still good to go at 170K miles. Don't know if the TCW3 is helping or not but seems to run a bit quieter so I"m gonna keep on adding it.

I use 1 quart per tank every few tank fulls. Been doing this for 5 years now.

Which reminds me, I need to go get more this weekend!

I have asked this several times before, but to date, no one has answered the question that I am aware...

What do the injectors look like after extended use?

Not sure how they look.
What I've started doing is collecting a bunch of the 16oz bottles, and refolling them with the 2stroke oil and a couple onces of MMM Oil.

I add a bottle at each fill up.

It is not something that you can see like the nozzles on the older diesels. The common rail injectors are electrically controled valves. The needle and bore are poduced to 1/10,000 or an inch. Most other engine parts have a clearance of 1/1000 of an inch. The tolarance of the injectors is so close that almost anything that gets into the injector will cause wear or cause the needle in the injector to stick, open or closed. The injector will fire 2 or 3 times per power stroke (depending on the model year) and with pressures up to 25,000psi, higher with a pressure box added. Lubrication with good filtration and water removal is a must for these injectors to last.
