Question Wrong Turbo installed by Dodge dealer on 2004

I had a turbo replaced at a Dodge dealer on my 2004.5 Vin C Cummins. Recently we were trying to figure out our power problems. That led us to the turbo. I call them today to ask them if they put the wrong turbo on and upon checking the #'s he said yes. What kind of problems could having the wrong turbo installed cause?

Lack of power, higher engine temps, incorrect boost numbers, and could confuse the heck out of the computer.

do you have a boost gauge on your rig? Curious if it had the right pressure numbers under load. If you don't, well... never mind.

Now how in the heck could they do that?

The turbo that should be on there, HE351cw, has this huge hole in the compressor snail for the electronic wastegate and is unique to that particular turbo. HE341 is a bellows type mechanical wastegate (turbo before the 351) and the newer VGT turbos are waaay different. So, how could they do that?

I have no idea. I have been asking them that for a few days. But we have had so many problems and I know now this is why. They are not going good on this mistake thou. I am waiting from a call from the owner.

You would think that if the service department made the mistake and acknowledged the mistake they would want to correct the mistake as quickly as possible before any collateral damage occurred. Silly me for being logical.

I know the good ones are out there, and times are rough and all, but I am continually amazed at how poorly some dealers treat their customers when it comes to service work. It is almost like they only want to sell trucks, not work on them.
