Fit???...... More than likely.

Work????..... Not very easy if at all. The electronics would be a nightmare at this point. I am sure in the future somebody will have a stand alone computer and wire harness, but right now, I do not see it as possible.

Check with SunCoast and see if they have the bugs ironed out. They were working on a conversion kit and stand-alone computer for it.

Yeah, for $10,000 to get you started. Forget that.

Oh sure, go DRAG price into it.

He just asked about feasibility, no other qualifications.

Might as well do an Ally at those prices.

I'm starting to see a couple of the 68REs pop up for sale at pretty good prices. If I had the scratch I would pick one up and wait until a conversion kit is available. Once it can be done then I'm sure the prices for just the trans will start to go way up.....

Yeah, I was just wondering with six speeds being so sweet.

Right now I need to cure the shuttle shift on low throttle and buy a Transgo kit. Anybody have a vendor for the Transgo? Geno's doesn't sell them. I found a couple places that had them for $70 plus $16 shipping and that's a lot for shipping...

I call there about 6 months ago and they said they were working on it.

Any thing can be done if you have enough money, you know that.

could you maybe just use the ecm from a 6.7 on a 5.9 and then have it custom tuned to match the engine?

Just throwing it out there

hmm i wouldnt think so. The ecms on the 6.7s are far more advanced and difficult if at all even possible to rewrite. If it was easy they would of had an efi live out for these things years ago.

I dont understand why any one would want to change to an allison or the new trans when a built 48re is better than all?

If you have driven a truck with the 6-speed, especially with a heavy trailer behind, you would not ask that question. For me, I think I would almost rather just get a newer truck because then you get the factory E-Brake too. The combo is really nice...
