I don't know if any amount of grease will keep the tre's from randomly snapping.
A local shop I use just had a customer snap his one year old '08.5+ driver's side tre poking into a driveway. Improper installation was not a factor.
I was wheeling in Utah two years ago and was up to forty miles from the highway. The issue was on my mind constantly. Has Dodge run metallurgy tests on these joints?

There was a recall on the new T shaped steering setup as well within a certain date range and steering part code, due to the tie rod ends being weak. Failure most always occurred during slow speed maneuvering (turns in parking lots, etc) and most usually on the drivers side.
I can't remember the number, but if I'm remembering correctly the AA through AD units were recalled, AE and later were supposed to be fine.
I copied this number from another site for the linkage number for an AE unit as an example. 1 - 52122362AE, the last two letters are what to look for. I ordered the steering upgrade on my own and the number was on a sticker wrapped around the rod, mine was an AE version. I don't know how they would be marked from the factory and no telling how long the tag would last under the vehicle.

I have never seen any definitive proof that greasable stuff lasts any longer. The thing to remember is that non-greasable stuff is usually sealed up much better and will keep gunk and moisture out better. Greasable parts are often "vented" to allow grease to escape as it is pumped in. This seems to allow moisture to enter, unless it is flushed out by adding grease constantly.
