Sorry to hear about your truck. Like P.J. said that Banshee is awsome. What powerplant is in that thing? Is that a 3 cylinder Kawasaki 750CC two-stroke or a snowmobile engine? I take it the rear sprocket is custom made? Good luck with your truck. -Glen

truck already has a new motor in it and seems better than it was with the old one. that banshee was had a 2001 arctic cat thundercat 1000 triple motor with a hooper racing big bore kit. it went good but my new ride is much faster and not a single purpose machine like the banshee was. its a ds650 bombardier with a turbo charged suzuki hayabusa motor and makes 350hp to the rear wheels. its an all day rider too. LOL .

Any idea why it dropped the valve? Just bad luck?

I put a quadzilla commander gauge setup on it and am thinking about a max mileage module. hard to imagine it adding 10% fuel mileage just by changing injection timing though. as I said , the mileage miser box was on my wifes truck at the time of the blow up and its just a single setting , 50hp box at best. but no, the mileage miser is staying on her 04.5. was told the valve was just a defect and either had a defect that made it weak or may have been over hardened which made it shatter. notice it is actually broken in 3 pieces at least. one is still in the retainer, part of the stem was still in the head and was not bent at all and the valves face broke clean off and is gone.seems to figure that if you dropped a valve it would most likely still be in the cylinder or stuck in the piston but mine was shattered into small enough pieces that 100% of head of the valve went out the exhaust port .

Wow...sorry about your engine! Seems you understand that failures due to defects do occur, and obviously this was a metalurgical or heat-treat issue with the valve, perhaps an inclusion. Thanks for taking it in stride - even if it's a little dissapointing. I'm sure Cummins will have a close look at your old engine.
Those banshees' are incredible. I have a friend with an original 1995 (I think) model that is unmodified. It's frightenly quick--really take a steady hand to keep it under control. A lot of fun if you know what you're doing, which it seems you really do!

I had an 03 stock expect for pipes, jet kit and some other fluff type mods. It was downright silly, 83 MPH on the street. (which sounds like about 2nd gear for some of the stuff this guy is building)!
