where's my squeek coming from?

my truck is squeeking like crazy! front end i think, usually happens on little bumpy roads...like tar filled cracks ect, my kid hears me coming down the road my house is on by hearing the squeeking. smooth roads its fine. just had the ball joints and something else replaced but it was doing it before that just not as bad, just getting worse.

anyone had a similar problem with a dodge like this?

One of my upper control arms squeaks a lot. I had to loosen the bolt to make it stop.

Park your truck and lay under it. Press up on the truck and when it moves up and down you may be able to isolate your squeak. It worked for me....

I tried that, also had the kid jumping on the bumper trying to hear where it was coming from and couldnt hear nothing...seems them hard little road cracks make it do it the best, probably taking it in this week to get it looked at, its driving me nuts

just like to have ideas to feed into the mechanics head.

Is your's a 2wd also? Mine's does it too. I've isolated it to the front passenger side, but I'm still confused on what is making all the noise on that side. The sound is worse with small, quick, jar'ing type bumps where the suspension only moves like a 1/4 - 1/8 of an inch. Just hopping into the truck makes the noise also. Almost sounds like bad coil springs, but I don't think it is. It's hard to believe that a squeaking sound can be louder and more annoying than the chatter of a diesel.... but it is!

I've taking the shocks off, no effect on noise. I've lubed all the rubber bushings with silicon spray, little effect on noise. One day I'm going to disconnect the front sway bar and see what happens.

I agree, the noise is a killer!

Try poping the hood when you hear it,it could be those rubber bumpers under the hood rubbing on the engine compartment frame as the hood flexes.Mine does it and it sounds like its coming from somewhere else.

if you have put Shocks on the truck it could be the bolt and nut not tight enough mine was like that couldn't pin point the problem till I went under there and started tightening the nuts and bolts up worked for me.

Any report yet? I took my sway bar's and links off this weekend and I still had the squeak. It really seems like it's coming from the coil spring. But I don't know

Moog is crap on our trucks, they're forged so they bind up real bad. There are lots of threads on that particular topic. Carli and Dynatrac have been mentioned as the best alternatives. I did moog as well, after my second set I have decided on the Dynatracs
