Yes. On the passenger side of the body, above the pan, there are plugs that you can remove and install the probe. Not as effective as a hot line tap, but yo will get a temp reading.

whats the hot line? you mean drill and weld a hole in the pan. not a problem i can weld air tight, but ill have to get steel fitting for the prob end to screw in,mine are brass, ill try the plugs first, that oil has to be pan deep cause the tb is aways full of oil when i change,i know splashing and all,but it'll be alot less work,i do need to put a drain plug anyways maybe two will be just a few minutes more.. well see,ill have to look at it and seee, thanx for the info,

No, I mean put the probe in the oil line that carries hot oil from the transmission to the oil cooler. That way you are monitoring the temp of the oil being discharged out of the transmission, as opposed to monitoring the oil in the pan, so you get a more immediate reading when things get hot.

You can use fittings to T into the line, or there are a variety of aftermarket places that offer a replacement line with a pyro fitting installed.

Here's one
