Wheel Stud ???

Does anyone know if the wheel studs on an 03 2500 would be the same as an 01.5. I broke 3 and a buddy has 3 or 4 for a 2nd gen but we don't know if they are the same...

Thanks in advance
Chris

Take a lug nut from yours and screw it onto his.I'm pretty sure they are both 9/16 but the length is where I'm not sure.

I think they're both 9/16 as well.

The bigger question...do you know why they broke? Are you running the factory wheels or aftermarket?

The reason I ask, is that with most wheels, other than the OEMs that came on the truck, you will have this problem eventually.

If you remove your wheel, you'll notice that on some of the studs, there are little spur retaining washers at the base of the stud, up against the rotor. The OEM wheels are clearanced around this area...and alot of other wheels aren't.

I broke 3 studs before I learned this. If these were not removed from your truck, take these spur washers off, and the problem should be fixed.

Well the dealer is no help... they looked up the stud and said "That is the most expensive wheel stud I have ever seen" $18 EACH Then I had him look up and 01 and he said "They are totally differant part numbers, you can't use this one on an 03" Now the question is, is these anywhere other then the dealer I can get these? I tried AutoZone and Advance Auto and nothing......
