wheel bearing or ball joint????
while i had the truck on jackstands i noticed play in the front wheels. side to side and top to bottom movement. right side is worse than the left. and its definately not a tie rod end.
truck has 52k on it and has been on 33" and 35" x 13"wide tires for the last 35k
are the wheel bearings or balljoints a common problem in these trucks?

both go bad. however you may be able to grease your hubs and save them. if you have up and down movement it is ball joints if you have outward movement it is the wheel bearings. when you replace your ball joints take the abs sensor out of the hub bearing. it is a 5 mm allen head i believe get a needle greaser and grease the bearing do a couple pumps then spin the hub couple pumps spin and keep doing it fill the bearing half way prolly like 15 pumps and you should be able to save your wheel bearings. i wouuld say you have a ball joint issue.
