What point to switch to synthetic oil and which
synthetic oil is best?
When on the odometer can one switch from petrol oil to synthetic oil?
And which synthetic is best for a 2004.5 CTD?
Can you ever switch back to petrol based oil once you've run synthetic?
Also, how does the oil change schedule change if you're running synthetic?
Thanks in advance!
DT.

20 000 is a safe bet from most of the rumors I have heard
And which synthetic is best for a 2004.5 CTD?
personal choice- I like Delo 5W40 or Schaeffer's 9000 5W40
Can you ever switch back to petrol based oil once you've run synthetic?
Yes- it is a myth that you cannot
Also, how does the oil change schedule change if you're running synthetic?
you could probably stretch it a bit, but should monitor with oil analysis
Thanks in advance!

My advice? Use Rotella with Stratapores and change on a regular basis.

I believe Dodge says to run dino oil for the first 10,000 miles, and then you are 'ok' to switch over to synthetics.
I am currently in the process of changing everything over to Amsoil synthetic, from the motor oil to the axles, tcase, etc.........
