I use Valvoline Premium Blue 15W40, have since new - it is what comes in your Cummins from the factory.

I was going to try Mystik 15W-40 but Atwoods was out. Used Rotella T again.

I use Rotella T. It's cheap, plentiful and good. Also has a unique aroma.

I just swithced to Delvac from Rotella. I have a friend that drives a FL-70 with a Cat. and he recommended the Delvac. He was a firm believer in Rotella, but noticed the Caterpillar was breaking it down very fast. He spoke to several trucker friends and they all suggested he try the Delvac. It has worked much better for him, so I decided to give it a try.

Rotella is by far the cheapest. What I will be useing until I have enough miles for synthetic. Then I'll switch to amsoil.

I have just started using Esso XD-3 synthetic 0w-40 oil. Is very well priced and is a true group 4 synthetic oil for the great price of $17 per 4L.

Anyone done a comparison like this with diesel engine oil?

http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stories/mobil1.html

I used Valvoline Premium Blue whenever I could get it and Rotella otherwise. If Rotella is good enough for 1,114,000+ miles on a '94 hauling travel trailers all over the country, I don't see how any other oil could be "better". But, oil, religion and politics...
I'm using Valvoline Durablend in the roid.

I switched mine out to Mobil 1 Delvac--have used it in my last 4 oil burners with no problems. The heat we have in Texas along with the mods I make this lets me sleep better at night!
