That's about what Id say for that truck, may still have some break-in left on it though. Read around on here for a little bit and you'll see numbers all over the place. But if you're in those ranges(hand calculated) you're in the norm

I bought my 06 1ton crew cab SRW in Kellogg Idaho. Drove it home (Approx.. 1000 miles) and was getting 19.5 mpg according to the over head computer. I just got done driving the truck yesterday ( approx. 800 miles) with some large grades and a Chevy Suburban on a car trailer. The over head computer read 14.5 mpg. My truck is an auto with 3.73 gears.

They can be if you are pretty much strictly running highway miles and watch your speed, also depending on how the truck is speced out and operators driving habits. On my truck if I run mainly town/city driving I'll see the mileage numbers of 15 to 15.5 mpg. If it is a combined driving more town/some hwy I'll see 16 to 17.5 mpg. And usually on the highway/Interstate with some two lane hwy through some small towns I would see any where from 18.5 to 20.0. So for 20.0 being my best running 68 to 70 mph. These are all hand calculated figures with the fuel at the top of the filler neck were I can see the fuel. The overhead computer I've seen it as close to right on the same figure as hand calculated to as much as 1.5 mpg off usually mine always shows a hi reading on the computer compared to my hand calculations.

with the 4.10's hand calced i get 15.5 around town empty and on the highway maybe 16 at 65mph. Mileage on my 05 sucks in comparison to the 03. But its cohones are much larger as I often tow 16k with no power problems. i hate to calculate my mpg while towing.

I mostly haul all the time (only gets about 60 miles per tank without atleast a 7k lb load) I average around 10mpg pulling rounghly between 10-18k lbs constantly. Thats about what I got with my 96 CTD as well.

I have the same as you - 3.73, Auto. I saw my mileage increase as I put more miles on and hauled a couple heavy loads. In the summer, I average 17 to 19. I can get 22 to 23 with all highway travel and a light foot.

Winter, my mileage drops to 16 to 18 average. I added a muffler delete, so my mileage has been suffering. It sounds so good I have a hard time not getting into it. I do run PS/MMO every tank. Seems to run smoother, not sure it really helped my mileage any.

I've been averaging about 17.3 around town/mixed with some hwy(it keeps getting better with each tank). I just ran 400 miles all interstate with the cruise set at 1900rpm and hit dead on 20mpg. no mods yet and still breaking in the engine. I just passed 3500 miles on the truck today.
