Question What happened??

Took my truck into the dealer because the rear doors didnt automaticly unlock like the front ones do when I turn the ignition off. (tried everything in the owners manual)
The service guy hooked his hand held computer up and spent half an hour trying to get it to work, no luck, went out and checked another truck in the lot and things worked fine on it. so they are ordering a new insturment panel for my truck.
Well since I did this my truck now idles noticably quiter, and the engine doesnt feel as tight as it did, seems to rev up more freely and feels more "broke in" for lack of a beter description.
I never left sight of the truck the whole time it was at the dealer. What changed???
No complaints, its just weird!!!

Are the child locks engaged on the back doors?

Also, I could only get the drivers door to open with my remote.
Somewhere in the owners manual I found the programming. Its programming for the remote.
Sorry, I do not have the manual here, its in the truck and on the road.

Scotty, click your unlock button twice on your remote to unlock all the doors...

I already altered mine so that all doors open with one click. I was just suggesting this to try for others.

Scotty has it right.

There is a procedure in the owner's manual to have the keychain remote unlock all four doors with one push of the "unlock" button. This procedure also causes the back doors to unlock when the front doors are opened upon exiting.

That child lock idea is interesting though. I could see that inhibiting the back doors from unlocking even though the programming procedure above has been done.

Let's see now. you're saying that if I program my door locks to all open on one click of the remote, that it will also unlock the back doors when the front door opens?

The most annoying thing on my truck is the door locks lock when in motion, and then when I stop all of the doors are locked. When I attempt entry to the rear doors I have to walk back and open the front door and unlock the doors from the front door command center.

If there is a way to unlock the rear doors when the front door opens it sure would be nice! I guess I will have to look at the manual again, Jim

You can also program it to NOT lock the doors automatically when you hit 15 MPH. Done I also changed it too the one button unlock.

Tried everything in the owners manual, changed every setting it listed, and changed it back again, the service guy at the dealer plugged in his hand held computer and couldnt figure it out because when he got to the screen for that option nothing was there on my truck, he checked the computer out on another truck in the lot and it worked fine there. There ordering a new computer for mine from the manufacture I beleive it was from "Star electronics"
Put about a hundred miles on the truck today and its running every bit as quiet as the 2002 magnum 360 engine in my last truck. No changes in power, just MUCH quieter, and smoother. if the heater fan is on the second notch you cant hear the engine at all! you just feel the engine vibration thats always been there. actually have to keep an eye on the tach. to know when to shift. WEIRD I TELL YA!
