What does fuel in oil look like on the dipstick?
Here's the situation: Trucks been having sluggish power lately, a little less but not significant. I recently ran 2 tanks of 20% Bio (about a month ago), and then I ran some Howe's Meaner Cleaner in my last tank. I never noticed any sluggishness from a clogged fuel filter like expected after running the Bio fuel; so I didn't change the fuel filter. After running the Howe's my power has slowly diminished, rougher idle, etc. So, I went out today and thought I'd just change the fuel filter and be done with it, even though its only been 6k since changing it. I go to check the oil and it looks like it's way over the full mark. Ironically just after reading a recent post about the same issue.
Here's the question. What does leaking fuel look like on the stick? I recently switched to Rotella 5-40 full syn. and know its a lot thinner. The oil is solid up to the mid point of the fill/full grid on the stick, but it's gets very splotchy up the stick another 3 inches or so; well above the full mark. Every time I pull it, it does the same thing. The truck has been sitting for nearly 24 hrs. so I know it should all be in the pan.
Is an oil analysis the way to go? How else can I check for a leaky or cracked injector?

oil sample is great but I have heard take the dipstick out and let one drip of oil fall onto a clean paper towel and watch the drop. if it gets light around the edge that is usually fuel in the oil ??
