I think I found one of the things I need to do. Apparently there are open vents at the top of the fuel tank that should have a bit of tubing attached to them to make it harder for crud to get into the fuel tank. My truck was built in May 2006. Perhaps it's already had the Dodge fix applied. I'm out of town on business and will have to check when I get back home.

Are there any other little things like this that the 2006 trucks need?

Thanks,
Tad

There is a recall on the fuel tank vent-take your truck to a dealer. If it needs it done, they will do it free of charge. It took them under an hour to do it to mine.

It should already have it done but I went and added a fuel filter to the ends of my hose just for added security. Let the open end hang down.

been thru the modding game with my last few trucks. My new 06 does not appear as tho it will need any modding to do what i do with mine.
I tow heavy (46 ft gooseneck) so will add egt and transmission temp gauges. Other than that the only thing i will change will be the lubricants--changing everything to synthetics
